The drop off to the lake may present a danger for young children. There are stairs down to access the water or head to the larger public beach just a short walk to the north. The cottage is nestled in an area with other cottages but enjoys a private lakefront. It is bordered on one side by a brook and pine trees and the other side is edged by a fence separating the neighboring property.
Explore the Northeast Kingdom from the cottage as home base. Enjoy the countless outdoor activities close by and around our Lake Willoughby. Whether you approach the lake from the north or the south, you will be awestruck by the beauty of the mountains and undeveloped forests cradling the water's edge. Hike the numerous trails at the south end of the lake or bike the world-famous Kingdom Trails only 30 minutes away in Burke. Bring your kayaks/canoes or even your motor boat. We provide a dock and a boat lift. Savor the afternoon sun with friends or a good book. Our side of the lake delights in the warm sunshine into the evening until the sun sets in its glorious splendor. Listen to the loons or fish from the dock (license needed). Swim, swim, swim in the incredibly clear waters of our beautiful lake. Our lakefront retreat allows you to fully enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Willoughby and the surrounding mountains.

There are three upstairs bedrooms–two with a double bed and one with two twins–a full bath downstairs and a half bath upstairs, a dining room, a living room, full kitchen and a breakfast nook. The stairs to the second level are steep so may be dangerous for a toddler. The ceiling is also low at the top of the stairs so watch your head. We also have WI-Fi and a smart TV if desired.
