Clean and no clutter country home recently renovated with fully equipped kitchen, deck with barbeque grill, washer and dryer, and a 4 ft fire pit in backyard. 4 bedrooms, 1 bath, two living rooms, large equiped kitchen, front porch, deck in back of house on 1/2 acre of land. 1/10 of a mile to two trail heads. Close to Nash Stream Bog and Great North Woods trails. Can acommodate 4 people or up to 6 if willing to share a room. Room #1 has one queen bed, Room #2 has one single bed, Room #3 has one full-size bed and one twin bed, Room #4 has one qween size bed.
Local swimming areas include Christine Lake, Maidstone Lake and South Pond. No smoking in house and no pets allowed in house. Santa's Village just 16 miles away. Canadian border just 35 minutes away. Parking for 1 truck and 1 trailer on property. PARKING FOR 2 VEHICLES ONLY!!!

The house is cozy and clean. If you expect luxury then go to the Mountain Grande Hotel or the Mount Washington Hotel. Our nighly price is $90 with a 45% discount for a 3 or 4 week stay. 13 out of past 15 guests gave us a 5 star rating as comfortable and clean. One guest, Joanne from Hell, hated the home because there was a stain in the coffee pot and a splash in the microwafe. They said the house was not clean or safe. They were mistaken. The house may be older but it is always clean and safe. Be on your wayJoanne, next time pay $200 ,a night at the Mount Washington Hotel. I have cleansed the house with sage in hopes that Evil Joanne does not return!

Summary: We have given our “Stay in Groveton” a 5-star rating because our Number One goal when we booked with John was to be out of Florida Heat for the month of August, 2021 at reasonable expense. We met our goal. While there is a certain caveat to this 5-star rating discussed below, first let us advise of all the unequivocal benefits we experienced. John is an exceptionally accommodating host. Throughout our entire stay and even before, John was intensely concerned that we were comfortable. Every time we needed to discuss anything, he timely responded. Upon arrival we found the house to have very easy access entry; the necessaries—refrigerator (good sized), shower, towels, bed linens, coffee maker and toaster were all very clean; and the bedrooms (1 downstairs; 2 upstairs) all have easy open windows enabling “fresh air sleeping.” (Very important.) The beds are firm and comfortable with plenty of clean pillows, linens, and blankets. Cleaning and disinfecting products were abundantly supplied. Inside house temperature can be maintained comfortably with fans, both ceiling and portable or with forced air heat when necessary. The other amenities were quite satisfactory: the kitchen and all of the rooms are very good sized; Internet/WiFi worked very well and seemed reasonably secure; we especially appreciated the washer and dryer on site. The house sits atop elevation in a pleasantly quiet, non-intrusive neighborhood that is great for uphill walking. These are the cautions we offer: Groveton itself offers a fantastic location to be in the “North Country of New Hampshire.” Coos County. LOTS of beautiful mountains and lakes and history. But the town is an “old mill town” with no curb appeal and no charisma. For a serious golfer, a lot of driving (one way) is required to find a fulfilling golf course or golf facility. Secondly, the house is old. Undoubtedly, in its day it was well-built, but time and elements have taken their toll. John works to address these issues. We found the deck to be very sturdy yet the stairs to the second floor are only safe for the strong and fit. The furnishings, the closets, and the kitchen cupboards should all have a deep cleaning by skilled professionals. And please note, there is no automatic dishwasher in the kitchen. There are MANY people for whom staying here will be very rewarding. It was for us. But it is important to contemplate your primary purpose when making your decisions.
